This had given our journalists their share of scoops, politicians their next election agenda, govt officials and social activists something to cry about. The last few months since November have been pretty agonizing.Be in newspaper reports or the live coverage of the blasts-the media has been lapping up the gory events….something that reminds one of the holocaust. And all that we have been doing is talking about it…in our drawing rooms, social gathering ,at our workplaces.
Well there are people who have been making hay…collecting donations for the ‘benefit’ of the victims or pretending to be social workers-all these have resulted in a pandemonium that is our India. She is being laid bare for the world to feast its eyes upon.In circumstances other than this,I would not have ventured to write on this topic, had I not witnessed a talk show on NDTV India.Trust me,its difficult to remain cool and collected.Go to the interiors,Godhra,Ahmendabad,Bihar…just to name a few.
The atmospehere in nauseating.Living miles away, one admittedly cannot do much but try in his/her own way to react to the anarchy, corruption and chaos. Its time me realize that our nation is entering the Danger Zone.By the time we realizing the complexity of the situation,Mumbai will still be burning. No matter which side we take, someone will be dying. And everyday the heap of bodies will be rising inch by inch.
One is not left with much choice to trash Humanity or dare to aspire for something otherwise just the way the character in ‘The Wednesday’ did.
